I’m Not THAT Old!

I will have to get dentures or dental implants a lot sooner than I thought.

Fucking great.

I always knew I’d be on the young side when the day come but I’m only 30 for cripes sake.  When I was 11 months old I had Type B Meningitis (My poor parents).  The antibiotics that saved my life left a life long imprint on my future adult teeth.  Couple that with bad genes, my parents lack of being able to afford proper dental care, and 4 back to back pregnancies and you get bad teeth.  I can look at food and chip a tooth.  There is not one tooth in my mouth that does not have some sort of filling on it.

I shouldn’t complain because it beats the alternative.

This would have been far more manageable except when my adult teeth started to come in they used the old style silver fillings on me.  Over time they were never replaced… they just went bad.

In the past few years I’ve had my entire mouth redone properly.  Despite that the silver had been in so long that all rear teeth were already breaking down.

Recently I’ve lost all bottom molars and my uppers are now causing me trouble.

I woke up this morning to a swollen face and tomorrow I will likely lose all my upper molars on the right side.  We will try a root canal first but that usually causes the tooth to crumble.

Ugh.
