While we haven’t spread the news publicly yet, all immediate family now knows. A few select friends also know. Most people are excited for us. Some people think we are nuts. It’s our decision and ours alone and this is what we want.

One question we’ve been asked a few times is if we are excited. As odd as it sounds the answer is no. I think we’re scared of another loss. Until we know this one is sticking around for the long run it’s hard to get excited. We are scheduled for an ultrasound on January 23rd. If we see a heartbeat then we will start to get excited. At that point we might as well spread the news too. If we don’t see a heartbeat… I don’t even want to think about that.

Both boys have been sick this past week. I feel bad that I didn’t realize how sick they were. They were acting pretty normal. Thing 2 started to wheeze a bit and since he’s young we decided to take him to a walk in clinic. The doctor checked out both boys and they both had pneumonia and ear infections. Oops. Thing 1 is better now and Thing 2 is about 75% better. Poor guys.
