Hubby and I have been all over the board on if/when I should go back to work. Money isn’t really the issue since daycare & the commute almost evens that out. What is the issue is I love what I do (Web Developer) but I also like being home with the boys. I get some freelance which helps but it comes and goes in waves.
Another lady in my unit, B, is also a Web Developer. She has managed to land a job that allows her to work from home. Her kids are school aged but it’s my ideal situation.
I have given B my resume and I hope and pray that her company is in need for my skill set.
If they are interested and hire me I would move Thing 1 to 3 days a week in daycare and Thing 2 will join him early 2008. This way I can have the best of both worlds. If I don’t get it then both boys (again with Thing 2 starting next year) will be in daycare once a week. This is important to me since other kids can offer things that I can’t.
Everyone please keep your fingers crossed that I get in.
I shamelessly stole the title for this entry from The Mompreneur.
Two years ago today Hubby lost his Mom. She caught strep. We all catch it at some point and no one expected it to be a big deal. This morphed into Strep A Pneumonia (This is what took Jim Henson). Most people do not survive this but she did since she was originally in great health. At this point she was admitted to the hospital and put into a coma so they could intubate her (put her on life support so she could breath). Her body just couldn’t handle all of this and she became severely septic. She responded to medication for a couple of days and then one by one her organs shut down. Within a week of her falling ill her brain no longer had any activity and we decided it was time to let her go.
Hugs for Hubby today please.
Fortunately the above has a positive twist. It was also this time last year that we found out Thing 2 was on his way. That feels both like yesterday and like ages ago. My how things change in a year. I am so grateful he is now here safe and sound.

Fingers crossed for you, Erin and many hugs for Chris!
I hope you’re able to find the best fit for your family. I know how much I do enjoy working, and how much I enjoy my kids. Best Wishes and GOOD LUCK!!!
I have my fingers crossed for you that you get the job. HUGS for Chris….
