Hubby and I don’t have a whole lot of access to a babysitter. If we need an hour or so we can ask a neighbour (pending their work schedules) and if we need a little longer we can ask my Father in law… well for Thing 1 anyway, he won’t babysit Thing 2 yet but that’s a whole other post. Having said all that the first and only night I have ever spent away from Thing 1 was because I was giving birth.

We were invited to a wedding this weekend out of town (about five hours away). Obviously only one of us could go so Hubby went. Thing 1 was wild because he was angry because Dad wasn’t around. Thing 2 is clingy and wouldn’t let me tend to Thing 1. As much as I love my boys I was going insane.

I thought I’d call my sister just for a little sanity. She wasn’t home so I left her this message;

“This is the Nucking Futs Adoption Agency calling. I’m calling to let you know about the special we have going on right now. Today only we have a two for the price of one special. Right now we have both Thing 1 and Thing 2 available if you are interested. Please phone us back and let us know if you are interested. Just a little reminder that all sales are final, there are absolutely no refunds or returns. Thank you and have a great day.”

She thought it was funny and I felt better. I guess sometimes we all need a little laugh to get us through the day.
