So I had an appointment with my OBGYN today regarding this spotting. I haven’t had anything in 24 hours so we’re hoping it has stopped. She can’t find any reason as to why I am spotting. She said as weird as it sounds that unexplained spotting is a lot better than explained spotting if that makes sense. It does make sense. It is likely just a fluke. She went on to say that after my entire pregnancy with Thing 1, the sickness of this one, the constant fear of size and the stress I felt seeing only Doctor Useless that I am not to use anymore scare cards. That made me giggle and I sure hope she’s right.

She is very happy with his measurements, my placenta has moved up enough to allow a vaginal delivery (not that I care how he comes out as long as he does) and my cervix is still long and thick. Every time she touched my belly he booted her in the hand. Despite my fundal height being behind last week it’s bang on right now so it’s all great!

What is going to happen is that I will remain on pelvic bedrest for a week and to avoid sex. If the spotting starts again to come back in but if not carry on as normal after that. I’m to try not to pick up Thing 1 or anything but she also said if he wants a big hug or something not to turn him down either. Basically the most I can do for the next week is bring Thing 1 to daycare and pick him up after, no groceries, no walks to the park etc. Thing 2 weighs 1000 grams.

All in all it looks good and was probably natures way of telling me to relax. That’s probably good as with all the stress I’ve had lately I’ve been a bit buggy. This will let me start feeling like happy relaxed normal me again.
