Useless? Or Not as Much as I Thought?

I’m a little shocked. Ok, Before I get into what happened this morning I have to preface it with something I didn’t write about. I didn’t write about it because it freaked the crap out of me. I guess I figured if I don’t acknowledge it, it didn’t happen you know. Last week I had a crazy cough. Coupled with my morning sickness I was a bit of a mess. During a coughing fit I barfed. With my stomach nothing is supposed to come up but it did. Since then nothing has come up again so I tried not to worry.

Fast forward to this morning. I had to get a follow up blood draw so I went to the lab which is in the same building as my family doctor. Well not all of the paperwork that was supposed to be there was so I had to run upstairs and get it from my doctor. I didn’t go in for an appointment but he came out to give me the forms and said he wanted to talk to me. We went into a room. He asked me if I knew Hubby had talked to him. I didn’t. He said what Hubby said concerned him and am I still throwing up. I said it’s not producing anything. He said he knew about my cough/barf and is relieved to know it’s back to normal but that I really shouldn’t still be getting sick. He then officially gave me the diagnosis of Hyperemesis (and I have been wondering for a while why I never got that earlier) and said to be careful and that we will talk about this much much more if things haven’t settled by my June 30th appointment. My morning sickness has improved but by no stretch of the imagination has it gone away. I was just so surprised to see him concerned like that. We’ll just see if he still cares next time he sees me.

I did end up getting my blood drawn eventually.
