They don’t call it Labour Day for nothing!! This weekend was crazy!!! Poor Thing 1 just can’t seem to feel better. This morning we brought him to the Doctors because even though we felt we were handling it we wanted to make sure he was ok since he is still so sick. We didn’t get a whole lot of answers as to what it is there but we have at least ruled out what it isn’t. He does not have any ear infections, no strep etc… the doctor attributed it to his 2 year molars coming in (which they are) but I still thought he was far sicker than normal teething.

I am likely right. We went to take him to daycare after the appointment (since Hubby is at work and I technically have 2 more days of bedrest) and J (the wonderful woman who watches him) said that she received calls over the weekend that kids she watches have the Hand, Foot & Mouth Virus. Although Thing 1 does not have the rash like symptoms I fully believe that is what is going on with him.

It is an all out war getting him to take any medicine. I know we have to do it so I have to remind myself that whenever I am pinning him down. He tries to lock his lips, spit it up, etc… He just doesn’t want it. I suppose it stings. Poor guy. He is so much better with medicine though. He’s in less pain (and feverless) and sometimes will actually eat something other than ice cream.

Hopefully he only has to feel crummy for a couple more days.
