My OBGYN pretty much had the same reaction to my test results as me. She said we have all been so worried about IUGR, and we could all almost lose sleep on my ability to eat post fundoplication. She said a skinny little thing like me (I love compliments like that) with those issues should not come positive for GD. I will take a 2 hour test in the next week or so. She hopes it comes back negative (as do I) but it could really go either way. If it does come back positive it will be manageable but might be a bit tricky since there isn’t a lot of room to play with my diet since my ability to eat is limited with my stomach issues. We’ll just wait and see before speculating what to do.
She said I made the right call in not adding more iron since I already take a supplement. I’m aware of what foods help it and block it so since all that is good there isn’t a whole lot that can be done. She will check my iron stores and keep an eye on my hemoglobin but that’s pretty much it.
I just don’t do this pregnancy stuff the easy way I guess. As of now we are dealing with Hyperemesis, an IUGR risk, a low lying placenta, unexplained spotting not caused by placenta issues, possible GD, Anemia… did I miss anything?
